What’s up with CONFIRMATION? While confirmation in the Lutheran Church is a time-honored rite of passage, it is not a Sacrament (commanded by Jesus). It is also not a finish line, but more like a starting gate!

At Hosanna we have designed a CONFIRMATION PASSPORT JOURNEY for youth, grades sixth and older, to be involved at Hosanna and the mission we share to LIVE, LOVE and SERVE so that all will know Jesus. This passport is designed for flexibility for your family and structure accountability for your youth.

An opportunity to begin or continue the journey: attend the Confirmation Retreat on Sunday, August 13 following worship; this is for student and a parent or faith-mentor. RSVP that you will be attending by Wednesday, August 9 (office@hosannaforestlake.net)

Confirmation is a journey of learning and growth. It is a process of helping young people discover who God is, who they are, and how God is calling them to be a valuable participant in what God is doing in the world. The goal of this journey is to equip young adults to be able to stand before the congregation, and make bold promises with informed and humble assurance in the faithfulness of God to empower the rest of their journey in life.

  • Available beginning in 7th grade or later, includes two retreat-style learning tracks; plus participation in Youth Group and service-learning opportunities.

  • At Hosanna, Confirmation is a personalized journey of learning and growth, discovering who God is and how God is calling you to BE in the world that God so loves (see John 3:6).

  • Once all requirements have been met, the Youth will participate in the Rite of Confirmation in October with other peers who have completed requirements.
