Voting on our Updated Constitution and Bylaws

Hosanna has received approval from the Saint Paul Area Synod to present an updated copy of our Constitution, Bylaws, and Continuing Resolutions, which have now been consolidated into a single document. To officially adopt these updates, constitutional changes require two separate congregational approvals:

  • First Vote: This will take place at our upcoming meeting on Sunday, October 25th at 10:30 AM in the Great Hall, requiring a simple majority to pass.

  • Second Vote: If approved, a ratification vote will be held at our Annual Meeting on Sunday, February 7th, 2027, where it must pass unchanged by a two-thirds majority of those present.

  • Our updated constitution will allow us to enter into a lease for 36 months vs 15 months without a congregational meeting. Since the Constitution is not officially ratified until our annual meeting in February, on October 25th, we will also vote on increasing the length of lease we can sign to cover the interim period until the annual meeting.

I want to extend a sincere thank you to the Hosanna Council, and especially President-Elect Gary Ledford, for their dedicated work on this project. Reviewing the language and layout of official documents is tedious, time-consuming work, and I am deeply grateful to everyone who helped ensure this text accurately reflects how we wish to operate.
